Project Flamingo is back at Tygerberg Hospital

The Flamingo Team is back in full swing at Tygerberg Hospital in Cape Town.

As a lead-up to our epic Mandela Day record-setting effort, Project Flamingo and a dedicated team of volunteer surgeons and anesthetists, performed live-saving surgeries on 7 breast cancer patients at Tygerberg Hospital on Saturday, 8 July, in Cape Town. In doing so, we reduced critical waiting periods for these life-saving surgeries, taking immense pressure off the already burdened health system.

Thank you to everyone for your time, your presence, your compassionate care, and for bringing hope to the lives of these seven women who are all on a brave journey with their breast cancer. It’s remarkable what a difference a joint effort and shared passion makes in the lives of those around us.

We are so grateful, and we hope to see you soon.

Here are some photo highlights from the day.
